Our Yoga Shala &
Daily Drop-In Yoga
Away from the hustle and bustle of busy classes in Ubud and located in Pejeng is our private rooftop yoga shala that fits small groups. Connect closely with our teachers and other students in the space. We are currently working on a renovation for the shala to fit ten students, which should be ready in September 2025.

What Makes Our Yoga Teacher Trainings Different?

Small Groups
of 5-15 Students
At Mindful Bali, you won't get lost in a huge group of students. Unlike teacher trainings with 50 - 100+ students, we take small groups of 5 - 15 students in each yoga teacher training cohort, making it an intimate, safe container for you to develop your confidence and discover yourself. The learning will be personalized to each student's needs.
Ancient Meets Modern
Our training blends a deep grounding in traditional yoga philosophy—rooted in years of dedicated study of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras with teachers from India—with a strong emphasis on modern, inclusive teaching practices. Topics such as trauma-informed yoga, cultural awareness, and respectful engagement with tradition are woven throughout the curriculum, ensuring you graduate with both depth of knowledge and cultural sensitivity.
Both Vinyasa & Yin Certifications
You will be certified to teach both vinyasa yoga and yin yoga by the end of this training. Whilst many teacher trainings only offer one of these qualifications, we offer both at the same time - helping you to discover your preference and skills as a teacher.

Personal Growth Focused
Rooted in a compassionate, trauma-informed approach and supported by a strong foundation in sobriety and recovery principles, our programs provide an inclusive environment for personal growth and self-discovery. (Please note: while our trainings support overall wellbeing, they are not a replacement for any mental health services you may require.)
Develop a Daily Meditation Practice
We firmly believe that yoga teachers should have a consistent daily meditation practice - but many teachers walk out of their trainings feeling not ready to implement this practice. That's why at the beginning of the training, students will complete a three day How to Meditate Course (Mantra Meditation, from the 1 Giant Mind Tradition) and then implement this with twice daily meditations throughout the training.
Lots of Practice Teaching
With a strong foundation in educational best practices, our training is designed to give you not just knowledge, but real teaching experience. The comprehensive manual includes detailed lesson plans, and trainees have frequent opportunities to practice teaching throughout the program. By the time you graduate, you’ll have the confidence, skills, and resources to step into the world as a capable and inspired yoga teacher.

Meet our Lead Yoga Teacher Trainer, Alexandra McRobert (500 Hr E-RYT)
Hi, I’m Alexandra – a yoga educator, retreat leader, and the heart behind Mindful Bali. After years of traveling the world teaching yoga and hosting retreats, I’ve found my home here in Bali.
With over 200 graduates from my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings and more than a decade of experience teaching yoga to students in Canada, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, I created Mindful Bali as a sanctuary for soulful, embodied learning. My trainings weave together the physical practice of vinyasa and yin yoga with the deep wisdom of yoga philosophy, meditation, and pranayama – all rooted in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
My own journey through sobriety and spiritual study has shaped my teaching style: grounded, compassionate, and real. This isn’t just a yoga teacher training – it’s a space for you to reconnect with yourself, step into your power, and learn how to share yoga from a place of authenticity.
Whether you're dreaming of teaching yoga or craving a life-changing inner journey, Mindful Bali is here to guide you every step of the way.

"You don’t have to travel to Bali to get yoga alliance certification, but if you want to or you’re already there, The Mindful Life Practice provides an amazing experience in a beautiful Villa just outside of Ubud. Alex is down to earth, humble, dedicated to her sober community, and steadfast in the continuous growth of her yoga practice. If you do a YTT or a retreat you will be supported & comfortable, your light will be nurtured, and you’ll have some time to explore Bali too."

"I have been practicing Yoga with Alex at The Mindful Life Practice since May of last year and I absolutely love it! Alex is the most genuine, authentic and inspiring instructor that I've ever had. After practicing with her for just a few months I decided to sign up for her Yoga Teacher Trainings and am so happy that I did. There is such a light and beautiful energy that Alex brings to her classes that I thoroughly enjoy. I highly recommend attending her classes if you are in Bali or online if you can't attend in person!"

"I wish there were 6 stars! Alex's approach to yoga was the magic that allowed me to develop a practice that is now a daily thing. She is accommodating to all levels and encourages everyone to take what they need from their practice. Highly recommend taking a class with her if you get the opportunity! She's led me through 230 hours of YTT and also a retreat in Mexico and I'm forever grateful."
